David Beckham takes his California boys for a ride along the beach

With this wife out of town, David Beckham took the opportunity to enjoy some bonding time with his three sons on a ride in Venice, California.

The LA Galaxy star, 35, bundled up in a black sweatshirt, jeans and trainers, while he rode his bike along the popular beach board walk on Tuesday.

His safety conscious sons Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, 8, and Cruz, 5, wore helmets, T-shirts and jeans as they raced around on bikes and skateboards.

David and his sons have now jetted off to the U.K. to spend Christmas with their extended family.

They were snapped leaving Los Angeles International Airport on Friday, with the boys dressed for comfort in tracksuits.

Victoria is already in London after flying in to attend the British Fashion Awards on Tuesday.

The former Spice Girl received the biggest cheer of the night as she was nominated for Designer Brand of the Year.

Despite support from the crowd, which included Samantha Cameron, Naomi Campbell, Lara Stone - she lost out to bag-maker Mulberry.
