But it was a strictly girls only date for Halle Berry and 2-year-old daughter Nahla yesterday.
The 44-year-old actress enjoyed a day at the beach with her gorgeous little girl.
The pair made the most of the fine weather lapping up the sunshine during their playdate in Malibu.
The X Men starlet was kept busy with inquisitive Nahla who wanted to peer into the rocks and paddle in the sea.
The mother and daughter team played with the sand before the little one made sure the beach was clean by throwing some debris into the sea.
Nahla, daughter of Canadian model Gabriel Aubry, was wearing an adorable pink Minnie mouse t-shirt with shorts and a multi-coloured flowered sunhat.

She also donned head protection wearing a cream peaked hat that seems to be a firm favourite of the beauty’s who was spotted wearing it last week to unload her Christmas tree.
The pair made the most of the heat which rose as high as 25 degrees in the area yesterday, well above average temperatures of 17 degrees for December.

The couple, who met filming Dark Tide together in the summer, spent time together last week retrieving Berry’s Christmas decorations from storage, getting into the festive mood.
And it seems that X-Men star is eager to give Nahla a sibling but is worried she’s running out of time.

But while she may be worrying about her age, her years haven’t taken their toll on the beauty who puts her fabulous figure down to a strict exercise regime to regulate her blood sugar levels.
The starlet said: ‘I exercise all the time because I’m a diabetic.’
Halle was diagnosed at 19 and was taking insulin until a change in her diet and exercise programme a few years ago enabled her to stabilize and stop taking the hormone.
After releasing her third Coty perfume this year alongside a grueling film schedule Halle is not slowing down and she will return to work after spending time with Martinez and Nahla over Christmas.
At the Frankie and Alice film premiere last month Halle announced her intention to head to Broadway.
She will tread the boards in her first ever stage role in the play The Mountaintop alongside Pulp Fiction actor Samuel L Jackson.
The play is about a night Martin Luther King Jr spent in a Memphis hotel the night of his famous 'I've been to the mountaintop' speech. It is due to kick off next Autumn.
