Left out: Simon Cowell, with fiancée Mehgan Hussainy at the X Factor finals this weekend, has gone on holiday to Barbados without her, taking his ex instead
She recently insisted they were still very much an item in the wake of persistent rumours they had split.
But in another apparent blow to their relationship, Simon Cowell has jetted off on holiday to Barbados - without his fiancee Mezhgan Hussainy.
Instead, the music mogul has brought along ex-girlfriend Sinitta for company, who he is still famously friendly with.
'We're still together': The make-up artist spoke out last month to deny reports they had split
Mezhgan, 37, meanwhile, is believed to be staying at the millionaire's London mansion.
She joined Cowell at the weekend for the X Factor finals, with Sinitta, 42, and another one of his exesTerri Seymour ,36, also seen at the show's London studios.
Last month make-up artist Mezhgan spoke out to deny reports they had gone their separate ways.
‘I still love him and he says he still loves me and we are still engaged - as far as I know,’ she said.
Meanwhile X Factor supremo Cowell has already deployed his lawyers to warn photographers to give him privacy while lapping up the Caribbean sun.
The 51-year-old TV star is also said to have been stung for £100 in duty charges to bring a stack of his favourite beers on holiday.

Cowell was stopped by customs officers in Barbados and told to fork out the fee for being over the duty free limit after he flew in 10 cases of Japanese beer Sapporo on his private jet, according to The Sun.
The yeast-free beer is Cowell's favourite tipple and he was spotted earlier this year sneaking it into a London restaurant.
Simon is thought to be staying at the £10,000-a-night Sandy Lane resort on the Caribbean island, where he spends every Christmas.
Despite reports his most recent ex-girlfriend Terri - who he dated for around six years before their split in 2008 - was joining him, the TV presenter's spokesperson insisted she is currently back in Los Angeles working.
Although she is on good terms with Cowell, she will be holidaying over Christmas with her new boyfriend.
Time for a break: Cowell, with fellow X Factor judge Cheryl Cole, is recuperating from his long stint on the show with a sunshine break abroad
Simon started dating Mezhgan last summer and became engaged on Valentine’s Day, presenting her with a £250,000 Graff diamond ring
The couple met when she was hired to work on American Idol, the U.S. version of Pop Idol.
Speaking out last month, as she left his £4million Beverly Hills mansion, she told reporters: ‘We’ve been apart for a while.
'Of course I miss him. It’s not easy being apart and even one day apart is hard when you are in love.
‘But he’s got his work in England and I’ve got my work here in Los Angeles.’
The 37-year-old said she was aware of speculation that the couple have broken off their engagement, but said: ‘I don’t know where these stories are coming from. It’s as if when you’re engaged you can’t spend a moment apart or people think you’ve broken up.
‘That’s nonsense. We are still in love and still planning on getting married.

‘I am still living here as you can see.
'I miss Simon but we speak on the phone three, four, five times a day.’
At the time The Mail on Sunday was told by two separate sources close to Cowell that he had confided in them that the engagement was off and the relationship would end once he returned to the U.S. after the X Factor final.
One friend claimed Miss Hussainy would move out of the 11,500 sq ft mansion, just off the Sunset Strip, once Simon returned to Hollywood.
‘I doubt you will see them out together again,’ the friend claimed. ‘When he next goes over to LA, she won’t be there.’
Mr Cowell’s mother, Julie, whom he once described as ‘the one woman in the world I am closest to’, appeared to confirm they had split at the time, saying: ‘It’s a break at the moment. The problem with Simon is that he works too hard. I think the engagement was too quick.’
