Don't arrest me: Cameron Diaz claimed on Lopez Tonight that she bought marijuana from Snoop Dogg in high school
She plays a pot-smoking teacher in her upcoming film Bad Teacher.
And it seems Cameron Diaz didn't need to do much research for her role, revealing she has dabbled in the drug in the past.
Appearing on Lopez Tonight yesterday, the actress claimed she bought marijuana in high school - from none other than Snoop Dogg.
Street cred: Diaz, appearing to promote The Green Hornet, says her Long Beach, California high school 'was rough'
Speaking about the 39-year-old rapper, whose fondness for the drug has been well documented over the years, Diaz said: 'We went to high school together, he was a year older than me.'
Claims: Rapper Snoop Dogg was a year ahead of Diaz in school
'He was very tall and skinny and wore lots of ponytails in his hair and I'm pretty sure I got weed from him. I had to have!'
Referring to an earlier conversation about her environmentally-friendly Prius, Diaz joked: 'I was green even in high school!'
The 38-year-old told host George Lopez that it was her early 'claim to fame,' before making a name for herself.
Both Snoop Dogg, real name Cordozar Calvin Broadus, and Diaz attended school in Long Beach, California.
The Shrek star, appearing to promote her new action film The Green Hornet, says her school wasn't for the faint-hearted.
'High school was pretty rough,' she told Lopez.
'Anytime you heard the locker slam and you’d turn and there was a girl taking off her earrings, she’s pulling her hair back in a ponytail and she's taking all her friends’ rings and coming at you like this.
'"It was like "OK, everybody get back" and you'd be wondering "Is she coming at me?"
'I used to get in fights with boys more than girls, for some reason boys liked to fight me.
Healthy appetite: The actress tucked into a hearty Cuban meal with host George Lopez
Comic: Cameron parodied dramatic Cuban soap opera stars, who she used to watch at dinner time with her family
Lopez joked: 'I'd hit that would you?' causing the actress to double over in laughter.
She then whispered something in his ear, which Lopez promptly repeated, saying: 'OK, let's take that one down, she says she hit that one already!'
Cameron, who is of Cuban descent, was also presented with a plate of traditional Cuban food on the show, which she happily tucked into.
Pro-golfer: The sports enthusiast also played a round of mini-golf
The actress may have been keen to prove her healthy appetite after it was called into question by late night host Jimmy Kimmel earlier this week.
Asked about her slimming secrets, she said: 'I eat a lot Jimmy, but I also exercise.'
'I find that hard to believe', he replied, pointing at his own somewhat rotund body.
'Because I eat a lot and this is what happens.'
